YEEZUS TOUR Show CANCELLATION Merch. Free DIY

To all,

Whether you're a passionate Kanye fan, a casual listener, or just a curious concert goer, there is no doubt that Kanye’s YEEZUS tour was on your mind. All the hype and speculation around the show, the photos in circulation, and even the album in its self is enough to get anyone curious and excited.

So, like many others in Western Canada, I decided to travel out to Vancouver to check out the YEEZUS tour for myself. I had no ticket, no plan, and a tight budget for the trip. However, I figured if worse came to worst I could still listen from outside the stadium during the performance. Maybe just hearing the show live from the steps would be enough; at least that's what I was telling myself as I was getting ready to leave.

Upon arriving in Vancouver a close friend who had heard of my plans called and told me she had found me a VIP floor ticket at a good price. She even offered to cover my ticket because she knew how excited I was for the show; things were lining up and I was totally thrilled. So, later that day when I received the news that YEEZUS Vancouver show had been canceled, I was heart broken.

I was upset about missing the show but I was never angry towards Kanye or the YEEZUS tour crew, especially after learning that the show was canceled due to technical difficulties. As an artist myself I could understand why putting forward anything other then your absolute best work would be unacceptable. It would be like taking a painters canvas and cutting it in half before an art show. I was prepared to wait as long as I needed to see the YEEZUS show. I wanted the full performance and was happy with any delays that ensured that.

The show was rescheduled for October 31st. Back home I began dancing around my kitchen. The combination of events was going to be awesome. YEEZUS followed by Halloween in the Firework illuminated streets of Vancouver. I prepared myself for my second trip and headed back to Vancouver the following week. This time the news came to me in the car as I drove into Vancouver… CANCELLED. I couldn't believe it. Not once, but twice? I was frustrated but remembered that I was happy to wait, so I tried to make the most of another unnecessary trip to Vancouver. News of a total cancellation arrived shortly after that. The Vancouver show wasn't happening and never would. So for myself and many others who couldn't come up with the time, or money to travel any further to see the show, our YEEZUS life experience was CANCELLED.

Frustrated, I needed a way to vent. Thus the “YEEZUS Cancellation Package” was born. I decided to use these frustrations to create this poster series and 3 awesome T-shirt mock-ups in commemoration of the cancelled events.

To anyone in any city who was disappointed in a missed YEEZUS performance due to cancelation, I encourage you to use this package to create some memorabilia. Commemorate the mind-blowing night that never happened by heading to your local print shop and getting some YEEZUS CANCELLATION merchandise of your own. Be the first of your friends to let everybody know that you weren't there, because for us, the official YEEZUS merchandise is unavailable.

I hope this has inspired something in everyone. Frustration is one of the most powerful catalysts in the creative process. In any situation, I encourage finding away to put it all to good and creative use.

Sincerely,

Erik Peiluck
